CRB COUNCIL RECOGNIZES SRES® FOR CREDIT TOWARDS DESIGNATION
CHICAGO, June 3, 2009 – The CRB Council, an affiliate of the National Association of REALTORS®, now recognizes the Seniors Real Estate Specialists (SRES®) designation for one earned credit towards the CRB designation. The Council confers the Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB) designation and is the governing body of the most prestigious real estate network for brokers, owners and managers in the nation.
The CRB designation is earned through a combination of CRB course work, real estate management experience and earned credits. By giving credit to those who have attained the SRES® designation, the CRB Council is supporting the REALTOR® family of designations and recognizing educational accomplishments. The SRES® Council awards the SRES® designation to REALTORS® who have successfully completed an education program to help them counsel senior buyers and sellers through the major financial and lifestyle transitions involved in relocating, refinancing, selling and purchasing a home. This sector represents more than 20 percent of the population.
This new change will launch during the NAR Conference & Expo, November 13-16 in San Diego and with the Council’s 2010 membership materials. Council CEO, Ginny Shipe, CAE, says, “We are pleased to have this relationship with the SRES® Council. This addition complements both of our designation programs and will enhance networking opportunities for our members.”
“REALTORS®who earn the SRES® designation are not only furthering their education in a niche market, but they are on the path towards earning future designations that can improve their business,” said Carol Kairis, managing director of the Seniors Real Estate Specialists Council. “This credit towards the CRB designation will help foster networking and referral opportunities between members of the CRB Council and REBAC’s Seniors Real Estate Specialists Council,” said Kairis. “This is just one way we hope to continue to build our SRES® community and to provide the tools to help our members maintain their success.”

“This course really is a must for all brokers and managers – there is a huge amount of information and practical material that can be used immediately! I couldn’t take notes fast enough. The appendix alone gave me a wealth of resources for my business. Just what I needed in this market. If you haven’t taken a CRB Course in a few years, you really haven’t taken a CRB course. I highly recommend it!”
