When Thomas ("Tom") M. Stevens, CRB, CRS, GRI, was inaugurated 2006 President of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) last October, it was the culmination of an already distinguished and successful career in real estate.
For the first 20 years of his career, Stevens built and managed the Virginia operation of a large regional company in the Washington, D.C. marketplace. In 1993 he purchased 11 Coldwell Banker offices in Northern Virginia and established Coldwell Banker Stevens Realty. It quickly became the nation's fastest-growing brokerage in the 1990s. Although he sold the brokerage in 2001, Stevens continues to serve as senior vice president for NRT, Inc., the parent company of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage — while focusing the majority of his time on his leadership role with NAR.

Strategic Business Management really forced me to examine what we do as REALTORS® and how I manage. This course is the difference between growing and increasing marketshare or going out of business.
