What if we were all connected? What if we were all both mentors and protégés to one another? For example, I am Steve's protégé, and he is Mike's protégé, and I am Mike's mentor. Mike is Mary's mentor, who in turn mentors Cy, who mentors Julie. See the connection? Stick with me, I'm going somewhere with this.
It wasn't until Terri Sjodin and I finished writing our book "Mentoring" that an idea came to me. I found that the research we did for the book truly supported all of my theories and personal experiences as a mentor and protégé. The research experience also taught me a greater understanding of the real potential of mentoring.
